"Don't try to fix something that doesn't need fixing"- 2018 Hyundai Elite i20 Facelift

2018 Hyundai Elite i20 Review

The i20 has been Hyundai's top selling car in the market for a number of years now... The first generation model was launched in 2009 which kick-started the premium hatch segment and then the second generation was launched in 2014 as the 'Elite i20' and instantly won the hearts of many... Now, in 2018, Hyundai have given us a facelift with some updated features and other minor changes..

Not a lot has changed when it comes to the exteriors of the car, they have re-designed the grill a little bit, changed the shape of fog-lamps and added cornering lamps in the headlight cluster... Not much has changed from the sides, only the new diamond cut alloys for the 16 inch wheels... The rear sees most of the changes made on the exteriors with the new LED tail lamps which some would say don't look as good as before but thats subjective really along with the newly designed rear reflector and reversing/fog lamp...

The interior also is more of an evolution than a revolution with only minor changes such as a new 7 inch touchscreen with IPS display which decreases the amount of glare on the screen and also the introduction of the new Hyundai autolink app which keeps one informed about their vehicle, the infotainment system also supports Android Auto, Apple-Car Play and Mirror-link... Other features include automatic climate control, an MID display in the instrument cluster, electrically foldable ORVMs, push button start and keyless entry with rear AC vents and a fast charging USB-port...

The same engines will be carried over from the older model, the rev-happy 1.2 Kappa VTVT engine producing 82BHP and 115Nm of torque at 4000RPM and the marvel of a motor that is the 1.4 U2 CRDi engine producing about 90BHP and 220Nm of torque at 4000RPM... The petrol engine is offered with a choice of either a 5 speed manual or a 6 speed CVT gearbox while the diesel only gets a 6 speed manual...

From the safety point of view, the new facelift gets dual front airbags, ABS and EBD as standard across the range and the top end SX(O) variant gets 6 airbags, and child ISOFIX mounts... The Elite i20 now costs 5.41 to 9.22 Lacs ex-showroom Delhi...

To conclude, the i20 has been a customer favorite for all these years and the new facelift promises to be just that as although the changes Hyundai have made are minor, they only make the car better in little ways... Not that there was anything wrong with it in the first place... As they say, "Don't try to fix something that doesn't need fixing..."

2018 Hyundai Creta Facelift- First Impression

The Creta was first showcased to the world by Hyundai in 2014 and it made it to the Indian market the following year(i.e. 2015)… Over the next three years Hyundai kept giving it little updates, the most remarkable of which was the dual tone colour schemes… But in 2018, three full years after launch, the Korean manufacturer finally decided to give the highly desired Creta a fresh look and a host of new features to add to the existing pretty accomplished vehicle… Lets start with the exteriors, most of the changes have occurred on the front with the new grill which gives it a more subtle look, the grey skid plate added to give it a more imposing SUV-like stance… The headlight cluster also gets small changes, the most noticeable of which is the repositioning of the LED DRLs which now are placed around the new squared-off fog-lamps instead of the rectangular ones in the outgoing model… The rear only gets small changes like a new skid plate and a slight change in the back-light
